My Review

My little Frugals LOVE this book!  I also really enjoyed reading about Miss Pearl!  The story is all about Miss Pearl who is a retired show dog.  You will learn about Miss Pearl, her life, the history of the Pekingese breed, and about Miss Pearl's family.

This is a feel good book that all members of your family will enjoy reading.

I also like "Pearls of Wisdom".  Those are gentle reminders for all of us!

I highly recommend this book!  This is a great book for your childrens library!

I give this book 5 *****.

Thank you to the author for providing me a review copy of this book as well as a cd of Miss Pearl's song!

Can't and Able - An Inspirational Story by Cynthia Fabian

What does it feel like when you just can't do what the other kids, I mean stars, do? Can't kept trying, but he never seemed to shine as brightly as the other stars, and was always teased and bullied by others. Can't feels that he is less than the other stars and just cannot shine. It wasn't until Can't realized he Can, that everything changed for him. Find out how Can't became a hero and ultimately became Can. Able is the star who had it all. Able helps Can't to realize that he can really shine. Connect with Can't, Able, and all the stars that live in their neighborhood and beyond in the star-studded children's book Can't and Able: An Inspirational Story. The colorful artwork by Daniel Stevens creates beauty and fun throughout the universe. And as we all know, the star is the limit! Originally from New York City, Cynthia Fabian now enjoys meditation and the quiet life in Somerset, New Jersey. "I grew up with a disorder. I always felt like I could not shine, just like Can't. When I became a teacher, I saw many children that were experiencing the same difficulties. They were teased and often felt smaller. This book is for all of you, struggling and not knowing how to change your circumstances. If you simply believe, you can change your own circumstances. Believe in yourself and you will see the wonders of change are in your power."

My Review:

My oldest Frugal really loved the book.  We talked about the message that they gathered from the book.

The characters in this book are stars.  Can't and Able are both stars.  Can't feels he is not as good as the other stars.  This book touches on bullying as Can't is picked on by the other stars.

For younger children, I would suggest reading the book over a few days.  Even though it's only around 25 pages long, it still can be long for a little one who has an attention span of a few minutes.

I highly recommend this book.  It would be a great addition to any child's library.  And it will be a great tool for discussion about "Can't, Can, and Able".

I give this book 5*****

My Review:

I was looking forward to receiving this book.  I had a few hopes regarding this book.  One that it would be in a easy to understand format, it was based on someone's own experiences and it gave good advice.

This book accomplished all three things.

Our bodies are such complex mechanisms and this book focuses on noninvasive healing techniques.  The author explains what a session with a Craniosacral therapist would be like.

I enjoyed reading this book and I think you will too.

I give this book 4 ****.

Thank you to the  Hay House Book Nook program for providing me with the book to review.

God's Magnificent Beanfield by Don Bowlin

God's Magnificent Beanfield"

...fires the imagination, inspires the faithful, and celebrates the family. If you believe true miracles are a thing of the past, Mr. Bowlin will convince you otherwise.

My Review:

This book revolves around the Kelly Family through many generations.  The story is well written.

There is a miracle that happens in the story.  The miracle is based on Christian beliefs, but even if you have different religious beliefs, keep an open mind as the message is about keeping true to your beliefs and the importance of family.

The members of the Kelly family are very easy to envision. The author does an excellent job describing them.

I personally really enjoyed reading the book.  I don't want to go into much detail about the book, however, you will come away with a renewed sense of self.

This is definitely a book to read. I give this book 4****.

Thank you to the author for sending me a review copy to review.

The Gospel of Yes by Mike Glenn

What you believe about God affects the way you approach life—often in ways you don’t realize. Are you convinced that God limits you, or liberates you? Is he more interested in correcting you or connecting with you? And when you hit a rough spot and start looking for help, do you believe God is against you or on your side?

My Review:

I really enjoyed this book.  I appreciated the honesty the author, who is also a pastor, shares.  Too many times they say, "do what I say but not what I do".  This book is a must read for any one looking to grow in their walk with the Lord.

Here is a brief excerpt from the chapter, "A Marriage of Two Healthy People".  "Can you imagine what a marriage would look like if it was based on the kind of generous love that expects nothing in return?

Those are the types of thought provoking questions he asks and then shares the scripture so you can understand what we need to do to have a healthy marriage.

I highly recommend this book.  I give it 5*****.
